Photograph of the Door.

Photograph of the "Door" seat. Crew Members sitting in this seat were known as riding the door. The major responsibility of the crew member riding the door was the operation of the rescue hoist. Typical inhabitants of this position were the Flight Mechanic during SAR's and Firefighters during Crash Rescue Responses. The weapon shown in this photo is a GAR or AR-15. The typical armament of a Pedro crew was the AR-15 and the Smith & Wesson .38 cal. Combat Special.

 

This photograph depicts a Pedro in a hover over a survivor. The Forest Penetrator is being deployed with the rescue hoist.
